Beautifully preserved VW Iltis civil, original hunting car of Mrs. KR. Louise Piëch
This VW Iltis was delivered by Porsche Salzburg to Louise Piëch in April 1981. It is a rare Type 183 civilian vehicle and is only one of 2 vehicles of this type built for the Porsche family with a swing door in the rear. The car was intended to serve as a hunting car for Mrs. Piëch. The Iltis is in excellent, unrestored original condition. The soft top and the 4 doors are present.
The VW Iltis was developed and built at Audi in Ingolstadt under the direction of Ferdinand Piëch. The Iltis’s all-wheel drive system was the technical forerunner of Audi’s “quattro” all-wheel drive system. In 1980, all four VW Iltis entered in the second Oasis Rally (today’s Dakar Rally) achieved top finishes, including 1st, 2nd and 4th place.
